Operations and Finance Manager

Do you want to be part of a team that’s creating real change in public health across Mongolia? Then we’d love to hear from you! FIRE – the Flagstaff International Relief Effort – is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to help manage our human resources, finance, logistics, and day-to-day operations. This role is crucial to keeping our programs running efficiently and in full compliance, while supporting our mission to improve liver health and eliminate hepatitis in Mongolia. What You'll Be Doing Human Resources Handle contracts for staff, contractors, and vendors – keeping everything up-to-date and in good order. Make sure our HR practices follow Mongolian labor laws. Stay on top of legal and HR changes through training and apply them when needed. Finance & Reporting Calculate monthly salaries and taxes for our team. Ensure everyone gets paid on time – via bank transfer or cash when necessary. Keep excellent records of financial activity in line with Mongolian law, FIRE HQ standards, and donor expectations. Work with an external accounting firm for audits and reporting. Budgeting & Cost Control Help create budgets for new and existing projects. Keep an eye on spending to make sure we stay within budget while delivering quality results. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers and service providers. Operations & Planning Help plan and coordinate our daily work and long-term goals with the team. Spot inefficiencies and help improve the way we work. Draft and implement internal policies and procedures. Logistics & Supplies Manage procurement, delivery, and storage of supplies for both the office and the field. Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and logistics partners. Build long-term, positive relationships with reliable suppliers. Compliance & Safety Ensure all our activities are in line with legal regulations. Keep proper documentation for things like contracts, permits, and certifications. What We're Looking For Strong English skills – written and spoken fluency is required. Solid organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience in HR, finance, logistics, or operations is a plus. Knowledge of Mongolian labor law or donor reporting standards is helpful.
